Tracing Emails (Corky's Security Series)

This video demonstrates how the origin of an email can be tracked using it's headers. Email headers reveal information on which email servers forwarded the email towards it's final destination. This leaves behind a digital trail which can be followed to locate the origin of the email. This technique has been used to track spammers. However, it is important to note that any spammer worth his salt, would be using header obfuscation by injecting spurious headers to confuse the email back tracing attempt. In this video the tool used for the backtracking is Email Tracker Pro.
