Description: So you have made the decision to get into Infosec and you’re going to be the best $Some_Job_Title ever. Great! What area interests you the most? You know that “Information Security” has many jobs other than “hacker” right? Maybe you started out with a IT background. Maybe you were an electrical engineer. Maybe you just decided “that security stuff” sounded like fun. Whatever brought you here, you are going to have the same issues that affects everyone starting a new career…where do I learn everything? Certifications or Higher Education? This talk will be an intro to what the speaker (who is always wanting to learn more) did to get into the industry and a couple tips to avoid the very real issue of burnout with the plethora of jobs and learning paths out there.
