Description: It is an ongoing war defending and recovering from crypto ransomware. As one variant goes away, a newer variant appears. Crypto ransomware first appeared in late 2013, and has still managed to stick around. No matter which variant has been released, they all have a common goal to encrypt your files, making them unusable and demanding payment to fix them. In this talk, you will learn about crypto ransomware behavior, how to defend against and respond to the ransomware, and how the cyber criminals are making money from the ransomware. You will also learn about the history of crypto ransomware, starting with CryptoLocker in late 2013.
