Description: Another one of those "Hackers are scary people" kind of news pieces. In this FOX News piece we see how malicious hackers seem to be breaking into people's answering machines by using the default pass codes which seem to be "123" or "1234" for most of these off the shelf devices. Once they take control of the answering machines, the hackers record messages like "Yes, I made those calls" etc. and then have their own calls approved on the victim's behalf by calling the telephone exchanges. Also, these hackers seem to be finding vulnerable answering machines by using war dialing software. These softwares dial an entire range of phone numbers to check for vulnerable devices and when they find one, the hacker exploits it.
Funny video, especially have a look at the scene at 00:58. Not sure how many hackers look like that :D LOL.
