Description: A lot of people who are new in the field of infosec ask how they can learn and develop their skills more. So, to answer this common question, I present my favourite free (or inexpensive) ways that you can learn more. Including mentoring. What else do you need? - Have I missed any of your favourite tips out?

As for finding new articles - I often find interesting stuff on reddits or twitter feeds.
Nice summary! You could probably also write an article on this. A lot of people need a how to get started guide on infosec :)
Some good advice. I would add @ChrisJohnRiley's blog at blog.c22.cc to a reading list for anybody interested in infosec. He seems to find all the good stuff to read out there.
I want to thank you very much for posting this. I have been looking for information on how to organize all this seeming chaos. It is awesome that you have that time with your daughter. If I ever have a kid I am going to make her a ninja too xD
@Andrew, yes you're absolutely right. I forgot to mention twitter which always gives great information.
@Securitytube_bot - good idea, I'll do a write up at some point.
@ppolstra - I don't know how CJR finds his stuff, but he does an awesome job.
@clay2k12 - thanks. Back in the day dads wanted their kids to grow up to be doctors or accountants - I'd be happy if she grew up to possess 133t skills :) but chances are she'll do something totally different!
Oh and I forgot, I got the link for Node Zero wrong... it should be netINfinity.org
