Description: "Network DDoS attacks are well known and widespread. Application level DDoS is a newer concept and it is more difficult to defend against. A wider security audience was introduced to the problem with Rsnake's presentation of his "Slowloris" attack script in June 2009. Meanwhile more attack tools of similar sort have appeared and when Swiss Post came under attack in December 2010 after closing the account of Wikileaks' Julian Assange, slowloris, slowpost and LOIC played a prominent role.
This talk gives some input on what happened and what you can do to defend against such an attack."
