Description:
Most linux users believe that they are immune to malware and trojan threats. Here is another nice video from our friend and trusted community member
Netinfinity, which shows the ease with which malware can be written for Linux based systems as well. Netinfinity creates a package which when installed, creates a bind shell at startup. Thus, there is a remote shell available to the attacker. As most users are invariable logged in as root, its highly probable that this would end up becoming a remote root shell.
Once the shell has been bound to the port, the attacker can connect and execute arbitrary commands on the victim's computer, without his knowledge. Also, once the shell binds to the port, the attacker could have the victim's IP address sent to a remote FTP server or even on IRC. He has thus converted the victim machine into a Zombie bot. The code for this simple malware is also explained at the end.
This is a recommended watch for people curious about linux malware and who want to understand how to begin coding them. Thanks go out to Netinfinity for creating this video. You can
