Description: Packet Sniffing is the process of receiving all the packet n the same broadcast domain, regardless of whether it is meant for our network card's mac address or not. Packet sniffing is also probably one of the most important topics in network security and is used for a variety of jobs as as network problem debugging, tool development and security research.

We have already discussed the basics of Packet Sniffing programming in a different video tutorial. This video series will serve as a concluding section for the programming series by presenting a basic use of popular sniffing tools such as Tcpdump and Wireshark. In the video below we will look at the basics of using Tcpdump to analyze and filter network traffic. This video will also provide an interesting insight into Pcap filters and how to use them.
