Description:

Amit Malik aka D0uBle ZerO Zer0 has created an excellent tutorial on getting started with Remote Buffer Overflow Exploits. The PDF copy of the document is available here. Basically, A remote exploit works over a network and exploits the security vulnerability without any prior access to the vulnerable system. In this video, DZZ takes BigAnt Server v2.52 as a case study and demonstrates how to to exploit a remote buffer overflow vulnerability in it.

If you are new to buffer overflows and would like to learn the basics, then the Buffer Overflow Primer for hackers may be a good place to start.

Thanks for this, just as a comment.. if this is attempted on Server 2008 you wont get the seh overwrite will you? is this because of the extra memory protection features?

Thanks
